National: Locks for cancer

Summary: Oprah Winfrey cut Academy Award Winner Hillary Swank’s hair. The actress who has been growing her hair out for more than 6 months is going to donate her luscious locks to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. This organization helps out women who have lost their hair do to cancer treatment. The hair donated to this program makes wigs ad gives them to cancer patients for free. Hillary said that this is her opportunity to give back to the community.

Opinion: This is an awesome way to show her commitment to the people who have helped boost her career. This is also an awesome way to show that she cares for others. When my hair gets longer I believe that I will cut it and donate to a cancer wig organization. I believe that all hair that is cut should be bagged and shipped off to a cancer organization to help patients who have lost their hair do to cancer treatment.

National: Brittany’s confessions

Summary: Brittany Spears was on Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday to promote her album Blackout. When Ryan asked her about her public divorce and how she felt about it she resend by saying, "People say what they want and do what they do. It’s sad how people ... how cruel our world can be. But at the end of the day you gotta to know in your heart that you are doing the best that you can." Well when asked if she thought that she was doing the best she can with her two sons she said yes.

Opinion: I believe that Brittany is right that this world is an evil place and that with the pressure of the world everyone does the best they can under the circumstances. I believe that people need to back off of her and let her live her life without being in the spotlight all the time. I do believe that people have been making stuff up about her and that is not all true. Brittany needs help and the paparazzi are not helping at all. She needs to go somewhere where there will be nobody looking at her, so that she can have time to reflect and think on how to fix what she has done. I pray the Lord will help her and that she will allow Him too.

International: Amy Whinehouse

Summary: U.K. singer Amy Whinehouse is trying to appeal her $714 million fine for having marijuana possession in Norway. Amy didn’t understand that in Norway by accepting a fine is the same as pleading guilty. This fine could affect her ability to work in the U.S. Whinehouse, her husband, and her hairstylist were arrested on Oct. 18 with possession of the drug and held over night in separate cells. They were released the next day on paying the fine. Whinehouse said that she did no understand the Norwegian- language that was on the contract of the fine that she signed on Oct 19. This appeal is an appeal of errors

Opinion: I believe that no matter what Amy Whinehouse needs to pay the fine and face the consequences. She is guilty no matter what and the appeal should not be allowed to go through. I believe that it is stupid to even try to consider an appeal. Why would you sign your name to something that you did not understand; that is just stupid on her part. Amy Whinehouse is a drug addict and she needs help.

International: McCann return to work

Summary: 6 months after his daughter went missing Gerry McCann returns to work. He will start with only 3 ½ days a week and will not have any direct contact with his patients. He will slowly but surely take on more work. The still hope for progress n the findings of their daughter but as of right now they want to have more normality in their life. Kate McCann, Gerry’s wife, still is struggling with the idea of herself returning to work. Friends of the McCann’s say that she is really struggling and is just focused on finding her daughter.

Opinion: I believe that Gerry returning to work is a great idea I believe that he needs to get his mind on other things. Focusing on other tasks at hand help with coping with reality. I do believe that he needs to take it slow and gradually build himself up in his workload. I still pray that this little girl will be found and that she is doing well. I pray that the Lord will protect her and her family and keep them all strong through this rugh time.
