Summary:
In Washington, DC, there have been suspicions of the torture tactics for those who are held for interrogation. The Justice Department ardently refuses of any claims that the U.S. government has secretly allowed torture for interrogation. Officials such as Brian Roehrkasse, and Dana Perino, say that the United States is still bases any interrogation done on the U.S. policy which is not to torture. The CIA also has claimed that all their procedures in interrogation strongly follow after the U.S. law. George Little, the spokesman of the CIA, says “The agency's terrorist detention and interrogation program has been conducted lawfully, with great care and close review, including extensive discussion within the executive branch and oversight from Congress.”
Opinion:
I do not know if the U.S. is using torture tactics in its interrogation program but I would not be surprised. People are bound to sin and therefore mess up on a very strict procedure that could end in torture. The people who perform the interrogations must be edgy and easily agitated because all they want is to get the information needed. I can see how they may begin to think that it doesn’t matter the cost as long as the information is released to them. It would be a fine line to be subjected to.

Summary:
On Thursday, October 4, a plane crashes in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The plane began having problems right after take off and began emptying their fuel tank. The plane eventually crashed in a suburb of Kinshasa, killing civilians and plane members. There are conflicting reports on the amount of people killed from Jean-Pierre Eale, an inside man of the information minister, and Michel Bonnardeaux, the spokesman of the UN. Eale says there were 8 civilians on the ground and 22 people on the plane who were killed. While Bonnardeaux claims all together that 25 have died and two on the plane survived, a flight attendent and mechanic who are in critical condition. The model of the plane was a Russian-made Antonov 26 and it is fact that these planes have crashed many times. 61 deaths have been accounted for by 10 crashes involving these types of planes since October 4, 2006.
Opinion:
If these planes have been notorious for crashing, why in the world would you keep on using them? If I were a passenger, I would not get on the plane at all. I think it’s a little suspicious to find that the planes have crashed a lot and they are not even made by Congo people, there Russian made. I’m sad also that the plane crashed in a city killing oblivious civilians. Many lives taken and I’m saddened for all the souls taken as well.
