Noel grows into a hurricane
Noel was upgraded to a Category 1 hurricane Thursday as it moved away from the Bahamas and out into the cooler waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Noel triggered flooding and landslides that killed at least 64 people in the Dominican Republic and Haiti this week. Forecasters expect no significant change in strength during the next 24 hours, during which time Noel is expected to lose tropical characteristics. Forecasters predicted Noel would dump up about 1 inch of rain across North Carolina's Outer Banks and 2 to 4 inches with isolated maximum totals of 6 inches across eastern New England. Noel is the 14th named storm of the 2007 Atlantic hurricane season, which ends on November 30.

hurricane is one of the natural disaster human beings. i hope no one gets killed by the hurricane or get hurt by the hurricane. also i pray for the people for their damage of the house. i also hope that hurricane goes away and do not become stronger to damge the village.

Venezuelan troops use tear gas on Chavez protesters
Venezuelan troops used tear gas and water cannons Thursday disperse demonstrators who turned out by the tens of thousands to protest constitutional reforms that would permit President Hugo Chavez to run for re-election indefinitely. Authorities broke up the protest outside the electoral agency's office. Students also hurled rocks and bottles. A few lifted up sections of metal barricades and thrusted them against police holding riot shields. Students retreated later as police fired plastic bullets. Opposition parties, human rights groups and representatives of the Roman Catholic Church fear civil liberties would be severely weakened under the constitutional changes.

tear gas is very strong and it gives lot of pain to your eye. a lot of students get hurt and it is a disaster to the protest. also when students retreated police fired plastice bullets which is also very painful. i hope everyone gets save and the protest gets over.

Philadelphia officer dies; police hunt doughnut shop gunman A police officer shot in the head during a robbery in a doughnut shop died Thursday morning, the police commissioner said, and his killer remained at large. He was the third city officer shot in the span of four days. Charles Cassidy, 54, was shot in the forehead Wednesday at a Dunkin' Donuts when a hooded robber spun from the counter and fired at him as he walked in the door. The shooting came about 12 hours after a masked gunman shot traffic Officer Mario Santiago in the shoulder during a chase downtown. Santiago was responding to a report of a gunman in a sport utility vehicle shooting at another car, injuring two men and a woman.

3 officers dead while they were doing their duty. it is a tragic news for everyone but especiall in philadelphia. sometimes i dont undertand why do they rob or steal the market. because the robbery killed federal man, he is a victom with a federal crime. that's what mr. hjort told me. i cannot imagine the saness of their family.

Ramones ex-manager, stars' realtor murdered

Linda Stein, a former manager of the Ramones who later became known as "the Realtor for the stars," was found beaten to death in her posh Fifth Avenue apartment. There was no indication of forced entry when police, responding to a 911 call, found Stein's body late Tuesday night. Stein, 62, was one of New York's top real estate brokers and was known for her list of celebrity clientele. Stein, a former schoolteacher, co-managed the Ramones with Danny Fields during the band's heyday, AP reported. Many credit her with bringing the Ramones to England for a concert on July 4, 1976, that contributed to the popularity of the punk scene in the UK, according to AP.

opinion who would beat the old lady. there might be something going on to beat her up or else there wont be any problem. this is a tragic too. one innocent woman died without any reason. the suspect killed her by hitting her head and neck. i hope the police arrests the suspect and sent them to jail. i do not know much about her but one thing for sure is that you do not kill man. then you have just made a 10year prison crime.
