A little while ago, Mitt Romney ended his bid, officially, for the presidency. He did not want to continue fighting up until the Convention. This would prevent an earlier national campaign for the assumed GOP winner, John McCain. If he continued to campaign, he said he would help the Democratic opposition and create certain victory for either Clinton or Obama. Romney launched his campaign almost a year ago, and invested over 40 million of his own dollars in it. However, McCain has resurfaced in taking both the New York and California primaries. McCain is the only real GOP nominee prospect left now.
Opinion:
This is somewhat sad for me. I felt Romney would have been a good leader. However, I think it is very cool of him to recognize defeat and bow out of the race. Showing grace as a loser is a very admirable quality. He knew he could not win, so he dropped out of the party, and for America. He would be very useful in the cabinet. He is a bright man so I am sure he could serve some purpose in our government.

Even after a 'sub-par' Super Tuesday, Barack Obama has some how raised 7 million dollars in the two to three day span here after. His campaign officials were exepecting to win California and other big states, but failed. Still, he is only barely behind Sen. Clinton in the delegate count. He now has a huge advantage going into February. This giant donations he receives are astounding. How can a candidate receive that much? After 32 million in January and 7 million in only a few days, how can this man be stopped? With figures like these and the media backing him up, he should have no problem in securing the White House.
Opinion:
Are you kidding? I mean, seriously? No wonder this guy has the Clinton campaign worried, he makes money in the blink of an eye. It is incredible how much support he is receiving. Yet, he did not come away with a Super Tuesday win. This is Democratic primary is season is going to be fun to watch. I am sure all of the 'dirty laundry' will be flying as the senators continue to barrage and attack one another. McCain had better get his finances in order because whomever emerges as the Democratic nominee will be ready for him.
International:
Academy award winning actress Angelina Jolie is taking her starpower to Baghdad. As an ambassador of goodwill for the U.N. she is sypathizing with the plight of Iraqi refugees. She says there is plenty of talk going on at the moment, but that is it. How these refugees are returned to their homes will affect the entire country of Iraq, which is on the brink of a civil war. And whatever happens to Iraq will affect the rest of the Middle East. Jolie currently has scheduled meetings with General David Patraeus and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. This should be eventful.
Opinion:
Ha, what exactly is this going to accomplish? What the US military and Iraqi government have not been able to do thus far, Angelina Jolie will be able to. This is simply ridiculous. How ignorant of her, honestly. She probably thinks because she is a celebrity she can end all sorts of violence in the world. Also, it isn't as if the United Nations is effective in foreing policy either. This is just a recipe for pointlessness.
