Argentina begins poll vote count

Summary: First lady Cristina Fernandez claimed victory in Argentina's presidential election in Argentina, with early results and exit polls suggesting she had avoided a runoff and become the first woman elected to the post. Fernandez's husband, President Nestor Kirchner, is credited with Argentina's rebound from a 2001 economic collapse. Supporters jumped up and down and embraced one another.

Opinion: Well, first of all, I would have to say that congratulations to Fernandez. However, it is still kind of awkward to have a female president. Personally, I do not like female leaders because they get so emotional, but if they are good enough I would not stop them. For Argentina, they have been in bad economic situation for a long time and I hope this leader would do something good for them.

Spain seeks words for lyric-less anthem

Summary: Even though their national anthem has been more than two centuries old, it has never had any lyrics. Spaniards seem at a loss for words when it comes to their national anthem. Athletes and fans wanted to have words to sing when the anthem is played at sports events. Thousands of entries have been received since the competition opened in July, and a six-member panel representing music, history, literature, politics, and sports meets to start deciding the winning lyrics. The panel has until Dec. 19 to choose a winner, at which point it will hand the winning lyrics to the Spanish parliament for a final vote.

Opinion: In 2002 World Cup, I was thinking that it was quite weird that Spanish team didn't sing at all when their national anthem was playing. Now I can see why. Well, I personally think that if the trandition has been kept for a long time, whether they like the tradition or not, it is better for them to keep it. I think traditions are worth enough to keep. However, this is Spaniards problem and they want a national anthem with lyrics. I hope that a good lyric would be voted and they can sing in the next World Cup and the Olympics.

Airports in America

Summary: Salt Lake City International Airport was ranked No. 1 for on-time arrivals between January and August, while Portland, Oregon, International Airport was tops for on-time departures. San Diego International Airport also did well, making both lists at No. 3.At the same time, airports are promoting services and amenities that can reduce some of the stress associated with delays. Those airports provides stranded travelers with live music, tempting them with sophisticated wine bars and offering spas and gyms to work off their worries.

Opinion: Well, I have been to the Portland Airport once last year. I kind of don't see why portland was ranked so high. They were the same as the other airports except that there were just 10 people around in the terminal. However, it is really tiring and frustrating when you are exhausted from long flight and have to wait for few hours for the next transferring flight. I think it is a good idea to have those spas and gyms for the passangers. Even though building new maintanances costs the airport but I think all the airports should get some more places and facilities for the passangers.

Six of seven killed in house fire were from University of S. Carolina

Summary: Several area houses were filled with college students visiting for the weekend. The house was fully "engulfed" in flames when the fire department arrived on the scene, about five minutes after the fire department was notified. Six of the seven college students killed in a massive house fire Sunday morning in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, attended the University of South Carolina. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.

Opinion: Too many fires! I really don't like to see these kind of tragedies. It is really sad to hear and see young people dying before they accomplish their dreams. They still made some kind of mistake of going to the beach instead of library but they have the rights to get off from the hard studies. I feel sorry for those kids and hope there would be no more fire.

So do male politicians. As long as they are qualified--I'm fine.

Leave the anthem alone.

Sad story in SC.
