Summary - A lock on the door of a Dollar Tree store malfunctioned, letting fifteen customers enter during Labor Day, said a cbsnews.com article. The lights were on and music was playing, so it gave the appearance that the store was open.. except for the "CLOSED" sign that could be seen on the door. Because of the malfunction of this lock, it left the store wide open to outsiders, with no one to actually run the store. Despite this, a few customers decided NOT to steal. One woman, in fact, called the authorities when she noticed there was no one to ring up her items at the checkout counter.

Opinion - This surprises me quite a bit, but I'm glad at the outcome. It's nice to see that there are still some good people in the world. I just hope that from this others could see these people's examples and get an idea of what it means to be a human being. End.

Summary - Mattel takes another hit, says an article from cbsnews.com. It stated that about eight hundred thousand toys were recalled. The reason for this? Excessive amounts of lead paint. This was Mattel's third major recall, after recalling nineteen million toys on August 14, and before that was one and a half million on August 1. All these were from similar situations with the excessive lead paint.

Opinion - It shouldn't take three separate recalls to fix this problem. It shouldn't even take 1. This is children's toys we're talking about here. Lead paint should not be used when making children's toys. I'm confused as to the reason behind this. Does using this lead paint save money somehow? I just don't understand. Whatever the reason, it would have to be sufficient enough for them to have to recall their toys three times.
