National: Brittney Exile

Summary: Brittney Exline, a 15-year-old girl started her freshman year of college this past Wednesday at the University of Pennsylvania. Despite the age difference between her and her peers, she is very mature for her age. Brittney’s friends at the University of Pennsylvania said they had no idea she was 15 until she told them one night when they were hanging out. Brittney, by age 8, was already in the sixth grade and by age 13 had already finished her high school math classes. She turned 15 this past February and a few months later graduated high school. She excels in math and science and is extremely interested in politics. She is to graduate from Penn State in 2011.

Opinion: I believe that if it is your desire to finish school early and to be ahead then go for it. I also believe that it is important not to miss out on normal things, like senior prom and especially having a senior year. I believe that at the age of 15 no one is ready to experience college. There are levels in maturity that you still have to reach. Your mind is not the same as a normal college freshman.

International: Hurricane Felix

Summary: Hurricane Felix is closing in on Honduras vacation spots. This Hurricane is not only damaging Honduras but it is threatening almost all of Central America. Nicaragua has already issued out a hurricane warning in Puerto Cabezas North of the border from Honduras and also a hurricane warning still stays in affect in Honduras from the border west of Limon.

Opinion: I believe that we as the United States should not just sit around, but send aid to the countries that have been hit and that are going to be hit by this horrific storm. We should send people to help the innocent families that have been affected by Hurricane Felix. There is so much that could be done and should be done to help.
