Omar Thompson

National- Fred Thompson says he can stop Hilary. Just as quickly as Fred Thompson has announced his candidacy, he has already made a rather impressive promise. His appearance on Jay Leno was where he announced his candidacy on Wednesday. Thompson made his first official campaign appearance Des Moines, Iowa. "I still have the same common-sense conservative beliefs," Thompson said in Iowa. Thompson, who is 65, has had many jobs that decorated his career. He has been a lobbyist, prosecutor, actor and senator. He has many expectations set upon him and hopefully, for his sake, he will fulfill them.

Opinion- Fred Thompson seems to be a potential great president. His views on many controversial topics shall ultimately decide if he is going to be inaugurated. Actually the president is usually voted based on popularity and popularity is usually based on their views. Hopefully he can help many people understand that having Hilary as a president,in my opinion, would be a disaster. Hopefully she doesn't get voted into the oval office. If she does, im moving to Mexico.

International- Pope Benedict XVI and Israeli President Shimon Peres met on Thursday. They met for middle eastern peace. Pope Benedict XVI also ended up meeting Saudi Arabian foreign minister for this same issue. The Vatican said that the Pope and Israeli president discussed many issues concerning Israeli and Palestinian fighting and leadership. The 35 minute meeting is a testament towards the rest of Europe's views of the situation in the Middle East. In recent months, the fighting between Israeli and Palestinian insurgents has greatly intensified. Peace may be out of the question, however some sort of compromise may be attainable

Opinion- It is great that the Pope and other European leaders are getting tired of the same pointless fighting. But it seems that no matter who or what tries to convince these two countries that they are blindly fighting for no reason. This can also be said about the current Iraq war, however this war has not raged for over 1500 years.

Who knows, but the more the merrier.

The Pope meeting the Saudi
Arabian foreign minister. Too bad the Catholic Church is outlawed in that country.
