International: Israel frees Palestinian soldiers

Summary: Early Monday morning Israel freed hundreds of Palestinian soldiers. These soldiers were released only as a good gesture toward Palestine president Mahmoud Abbas. Although these soldiers had nothing really to do with terrorist attacks on Israel, they held them over as percussion toward attacks that could be possible on the country in the future. Since about July, Israel has been releasing troops by the hundreds that they had kept as prisoners. These prisoners who were released on Monday were being loaded onto buses at a prison in Negev desert bound for Ramallah in the west bank.

Opinion: Israel has had so many attacks on their country that any action that they take as percussion to future attacks by other countries is fine by me. Taking this into consideration Israel needs to be careful in how they go about it. Because Israel is such a small country they need to be wise in choosing friends and enemies. They have allot of countries behind them and a lot of countries against them. With what they are doing with these soldiers is a really smart move. Releasing prisoners as a good gesture could earn them some brownie points with the Palestinians. Israel does need to be careful in letting go of their power that they have over Palestine right now. They need to be cautious in not letting go to fast or if at all.

National: Brad Pitt to the rescue

Summary: Brad Pitt is helping to rebuild homes in New Orleans for families that were affected by Hurricane Katrina. His goal is to rebuild 150 homes in one area that once had up to 5,000 homes in the area where he is starting his project. Brad is hoping to not just build homes in this one area but to build them all over New Orleans. He does not want to start and stop where he is now but his goal is to help the town of New Orleans and the families there all over. He wants to restore New Orleans to what it was.

Opinion: I believe that this is a brilliant idea and that anyone who is capable of doing what Brad is doing should lend a hand in some sort of way. I believe that most movie stars should put some of their money into rebuilding or helping some program no matter what it is. I see all these people who are rich and spend their money all on themselves but in the long run they will not prosper for doing so. God says to give and as your giving do it willfully and cheerfully. For God loves a cheerful giver.
