National: Omaha Shooting

On Wednesday evening in Omaha, Nebraska, a shooting took place in a local mall. The boy was later identified as Robert Hawkins, 19. He reportedly had stolen his step-father's gun and went and opened fire in a local mall, killing 8, and wounded 5. At a church ceremony for the victims, mourners lit eight red candles and five blue ones for each of those killed or injured in the shooting. The shooter was said to have had a history of trouble and after the tragic killing of the eight victims, the shooter turned the gun on himself.

Opinion

This makes me sick. It truly breaks my heart to hear about innocent people getting killed. I'm just truly puzzled about why these kids turn to shooting people to relieve their depression. I don't know if it is how the children are being raised today or if the struggles they are currently facing are harder. Either way, there is no excuse to take other peoples' lives just because you aren't satisfied with your own.

International: Bomb in Paris

On Thursday in Paris, a package bearing homemade bombs blew up in a lawyer's office on a boulevard in central Paris, killing the woman who opened it. The package appeared to have been addressed to the law firm. When the secretary had gotten killed, Prosecutor Jean-Claude Marin said the secretary had no reason to suspect anything out of the ordinary. The motive for the unusual attack remained unclear.

Opinion

O my goodness! What is happening to the world today! It's like if your not kiling someone, you're dying! As sad as it is to say, people are becoming crazy! I'm getting really tired of hearing about people trying to kill other people! Well you know what, I'm not watching or reading news anymore! It makes life more depressing.
