Summary:
Depression is something that many American adolescents struggle with. Between the years of 2003 and 2004, the suicide rate went up eight perecent for teens, especially girls, on antidepressants. This may open another can of worms amongst health officials who don't know if antidepressants help kids enough to issue it.
Opinion:
I personally feel that anitdepressants do help, for the most part. I also believe that people who commit sucide after they are on antidepresants were too depressed to commit suicide before they were taking medication, but once they started the meds it boosted their happiness just enough to end their lives. May seem contradictory, but it makes sense to me.
