National: Roger Federer prevails on
Professional tennis player Roger Federer prevails on his quest for the U.S. Open cup with a win against Andy Roddick. Federer played a winning game of 7-6(5), 7-6(4), and 6-2. Although Federer won the match, it wasn't an easy one. Andy came with his A game and wasn't going to give up easily. The two men were mathcing in their black shirts and shorts and were also matching in the intensity both had brought to the court. Although Roddick lost, he walked out with his head held high. It was a great and suprisingly well played match between the two.
Opinion: I'm sad and happy at the same time. I love both Roddick and Federer. However it would have been nice to see Andy pull out a win on Federer. What an upset that would have been. Both of them played a great game though. In the end Andy had Federer working for his breakpoints. I love tennis!!!
International: Al-Qaida suspected in attacks
On Wednesday officials said that "three militants from an Islamic group linked to al-Qaida were planning 'imminent' bomb attacks against Americans in Germany." It was said to have happened "when an elite anti-terrorist unit raided their small-town hedeout after months of intense surveillance." The men were said to have a large amount of explosives. The Frankfurt International Airport and the nearby U.S. Ramstein Air Base were reportedly the primary targets.
Opinion: It's scary how much terrorism there is in the world today. It seems as if we should fear walking outside of our homes. Americans are large targets for hate crimes. A large majority of Islamic people seem to target Americans to bomb and hurt.
