National: Man killed in terrible motorcycle accident
Ronnie Mack Hill, 48, was killed in a terrible motorcycle accident on Sunday the 9th. According to reports, Hill had pulled to the south side of the highway and was hit by oncoming traffic. The man in the other vehicle was Noe Lopez. He was driving southbound in a 2005 Ford car when he hit Hill. While he was attempting to pass another vehicle, he didn't see Hill and hit him. Hill was'nt wearing a helmet, so that only worsened the situation. Hill died, but Lopez was taken to a local hospital and was later released.
Opinion: I think that motorcycle accidents are horrible! I've always felt that motorcycles are extremely dangerous vehicles and stories like these seem to enforce my beliefs. Motorcycles have no real outer covering to protect you in an accident and when one is without a helmet, you have an even lesser chance of living. I don't completely blame Lopez because it was'nt an intentional crime, and Hill was not wearing a helmet. In times like these you must always wear a helmet!
International: Earthquake in Mexico City
Mexico City was hit by a earthquake on late wednesday. It struck about 6 miles beneath the ocean floor and was reportedly 50 miles west of Manzanillo, a city on the coast of the state of Colima. "It was felt strongly, but fortunately there is no damage, just a bit of alarm in the community," said Nicolas Mendoza. Luckily for the people there was no harm done from that.
Opinion: I have never experienced and earthquake before, but I assume that it would'nt be pleasant. It's never good to hear about them, but it's very good in this case because there was no damage. I'm happy to hear that the people are safe.
