Virginia Teen charged with raping, killing sister,beating toddler niece with sledgehammer
A 16 year old teen has been charged with first degree murder and rape of his 22-year-old sister, Betsy Mary Smith, and aggravated assault against his 2 year old niece, Andrea Costello. Betsy was stabbed and beaten with a sledgehammer before being raped and Andrea began crying the teen hit her with the sledgehammer. Betsy and a 1 year old boy were locked inside the room.Sheriff smith said that a detective went ot the house after a hospital worker called to report a suspected case of child abuse after Andrea was brought to the hospital for treatment. The 1 year old boy was immediatly taken to the hospital and was listed in serious but stable condition with a broken nose and fractured skull. The detective said that he found the dead body of Betsy locked inside the padlock room, while the family was in the house. The sheriff said that the children were not found until one of the children began crying and Betsy and Walter's mother told Walter to check on the children. The mother states that Andreas face was all messed up and that Andrea had told her that she fell and bumped her face against a fuse box. Walter's mother states that she doesn't believe that her son killed his sister that he doesn't remember and that it was a accident. He has no history of violence, but she did say that he was under medication for depression.
Opinion
I cannot believe that this mother just said that she doesn't believe that her son killed her daughter and she also says that even if he did do it then it was an accident. I think that detectives should investigate about this case more because I think this teen did it on purpose and maybe the mom had something to do with this.

Ethiopia to kill tens of thousands of stray dogs
Officials plan to use poison meat in effort to eradicate rabies in capital
Authorities in Addis Ababa have planned to kill tens of thousands of stray dogs by feeding them strychnine-laced meat because they want to get rid of all the rabies before the Coptic millenium.
After this the goverment-funded private organization plans to move thousands of homeless people from that capital to the countryside after the celebration by promising them food, medicine and shelter. Animal rights activists and commentators are trying their best so this event doesn't occur.
Opinion
I don't agree with these people of killing dogs especially if they are going to kill tens of thousands of dogs just to get rid of rabies and the bad thing about this is that they want to do this in order to get rid of it before their millenium celebration. I do hope that the animal rights activists are able to do something about this so that thousands of dogs aren't killed. I think these people can do something else besides killing the dogs.

Algeria bomb strikes crowd awaiting president
A bomb was exploded thursday in the middle of a crowd that was waiting for the arrival of the Algerias president. This bomb killed 16 people and wounded 74 people. This explosion occured infront of a mosque about 45 minutes before the president's arrival in the town of Batna, which is about 280 miles east of the capital. Local polica state that a man about 30-35 years of age carried the bomb in a bag and walked into the crowd and he was behaving strangly. The man threw down the bag and tried to flee the explosion but police are not sure if he died or if he was wounded.
Opinion
I think that this is terrible of a man trying to kill people while they are waiting for the president. I think that police should be more protective towards crowds that are waiting for presidents arrival especially if the president is going to be near the crowd. Police should me more aware of the people who are in the crowd so that this won't happen again.
