How is Ryan Evans so cool?

National:
Tonight, January 10, there will be a Republican debate held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Mike Huckabee, and John McCain will both be hoping to keep the momentum going. Mitt Romney is looking to rebound after two disappointing second place finishes.
Ron Paul, Fred Thompson, and Rudy Guliani will be there as well to help save their current, flunking campaigns. This is a very important debate as the South Carolina and Michigan primaries are soon approaching. This is clearly a debate that cannot be ignored because it is the first in the South. Immigration, Iraq, and general culture issues will obviously be on topic for tonight.

Opinion:
This should be a fun debate to watch. We will once again see the GOP’s finest gather and hope to emerge as the potential favorite to win South Carolina, and possibly the Republican nominee for president. We will see how new rivals McCain, and Huckabee fair as they will square off tonight. The winner should be the front runner for the time being. This will ultimately play a role in the Michigan decision in five days as well. This should be very fun.

National:
Due to two fourth place finishes in the New Hampshire and Iowa primaries, Bill Richardson has decided to end his bid for the Democratic nomination. The New Mexico governor lacked momentum and spotlight. He was clearly overshadowed by Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Richardson also lacked the funds to compete. Nevertheless, he mentioned at the Capital today he was proud of the campaign he had run. He also feels that the other Democratic frontrunners have come close to his beliefs on Iraq and education. He praised his fellow Democrats but did not endorse any specific candidate. Richardson wants the voters to take a long and hard look at the prospective presidents.

Opinion:
This was a long time coming. Mr. Richardson never had any sort of momentum or spotlight to win the nomination. He is practically a no name when next to Obama, Clinton, or Edwards. It would have been pointless for him to delude himself and think he could win. No chance. However, it was practical, and obvious, for him to tell the voters to fully examine the candidates. Do not automatically give someone the presidency based on name, but instead do so regarding ideals and such.

International:
This morning a suicide bomber detonated a bomb in front of the Lehore High Court in Pakistan. Bomb experts estimate that up to thirty pounds of explosives were used in the attack. Around twenty four people were killed and seventy were injured. This is just part of the waves of attacks on politicians as parliamentary elections will take place on February 6th. No organization has taken responsibility for this attack, but it could be assumed it was either al-Quada or Taliban. This is all after, or during, the riots following the assassination of Benazir Bhutto a week or so again. It can be assumed that the violence will not stop for quite a while. The opposition will not stop, and neither will the Islamic extremists.

Opinion:
This is all very scary. I doubt Mushariff, the police, or the military will be able to get Pakistan under control. This is urgent because Pakistan has about sixty WMD atomic warheads in its possession. This violence needs US intervention, or something! Imagine if suicide bombers got their hands on the warheads. Cataclysmic results. I guess this is all due to the fact that Pakistan has never experienced any sort of freedom or democracy. They had better get their act under control.

International:
Avalanches and heavy snowstorms killed an estimated sixteen people on Thursday. This happened near the Indian town of Spinagar. Four Indian soldiers were killed and twelve other people are missing, including a Norwegian skier. Rescuers have recovered the bodies of two missing people. Seven total soldiers have been swept away. The major snow slides took place in the town of Kashmir, which is split between India and Pakistan. Frequent and heavy snow and rainfall causes many avalanches and landslides in Kashmir. This causes plenty of roadblocks and other such hazards.

Opinion:
This has to be Global Warming, right? Ha. Mother Nature has always been humanity’s greatest foe. The wrath of nature is constantly felt. Disasters and catastrophes always take many lives. this is obviously sad. Just to be on vacation or at home and an avalanche strikes is terrible. My condolences go out to all of the families who lost someone in this tragic event. I feel truly sorry for them all.
