Clinton, Obama fight for South Carolina

Democratic rivals Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are locked in an intense battle to win South Carolina voters. the score is even between the two -- Clinton narrowly edged out Obama in New Hampshire, and Obama finished first in Iowa.
In South Carolina, the two are in a tight race heading into the state's January 26 Democratic primary. The state's black population has been divided between loyalty to the Clintons, longtime allies of the black community, and Obama, the newcomer.
But the latest polls suggest support could be shifting. In July, 52 percent of black Democratic primary voters said they favored Clinton, compared to Obama's 33 percent. In December, Obama's support had risen to 45 percent while Clinton's dropped to 46.
Campaigners for the New York senator hope the momentum from her New Hampshire win will carry her through South Carolina.

opinion
I really dont care who wins the vote. but I dont like Hillary. I rather like Obama. but i dont care. i dont know much about them. I think Obama will win. America's politic is very confusing. there are too many people than Korea. people dont think obama will have a chance so i think they will choose hillary because of her experience?

Romney banks on Michigan for much-needed win

The former Massachusetts governor is predicting a win in Tuesday's Michigan primary. Romney is a Michigan native, and his father, who made an unsuccessful run for the GOP presidential nomination in 1968, was governor of the state for six years. Another loss -- especially in Michigan -- could be a big blow to Romney. He would be spending "every minute of time" until the January 15 vote stumping in Michigan, except for a brief break to participate in the South Carolina Republican primary debate. McCain is also hoping his New Hampshire momentum will carry him to the top in Michigan.
McCain, Romney and Huckabee are all banking on resonating with Michigan voters when it comes to the economy.

opinion
i dont know who romney is but he seems to be a good man. also I like republican than Democratic. So i hope Romney wins. now he is first place and i think he will keep win the vote.
so my conclusion is that i want republican to win the vote. i hate Democratics. they suck.

Probe of South Korean president-elect gets go ahead

South Korea's Constitutional Court gave a conditional go-ahead Thursday to a special probe of President-elect Lee Myung-bak over allegations of financial fraud. The court made the decision on a petition filed by relatives and former business partners of Lee seeking to halt the investigation into allegations that Lee was an accomplice in a stock price manipulation scheme in 2001. it is widely believed the investigation would not lead to any punishment for Lee because the constitution grants sitting presidents immunity from criminal lawsuits unless they are accused of serious crimes such as treason.

opinion
i like Lee. he know what business is and as i believe everyone believes that he will build our finacial. president Roh, who was the president ruined our country. he sucks. i hope everythin goes fine with president Lee.

Boy saves president, may get honor

The Maldives government will discuss awarding a national honor to a 15-year-old boy scout who foiled an assassination attempt on the leader of the tiny nation by grabbing an attacker's knife. Mohammed Jaisham Ibrahim instantly became a household name after a man jumped out of a crowd of well-wishers and lunged at President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom on Tuesday. The teenager suffered wounds to his hand in the scuffle. Gayoom was unhurt, but his shirt was ripped as the attacker tried a second time to stab him before being overpowered by security guards. After the attack, Gayoom addressed the nation in a radio broadcast, thanking the teenager and calling for calm, according to the Web site of the Minivan newspaper.

opinion
the boy saved the president. i think the boy should get reward or something. 15 year old boy saving the president was a honorable job. good thing is that no one is hurt. the guards finally got the suspect but what the boy did was brave.
