Summary - An article from cbsnews.com tells of a hospital in Malaysia that acknowledged flushing the severed fingertip of one of the patients down the toilet was a mistake. A statement was said by this northern Malaysian hospital that it was "against procedures" to throw away the boy's fingertip that could not be reattached. They continued to say that they should have returned it to the family. The reason for the severed finger was the eleven year-old-boy was trying to cut a coconut when he accidentally cut off part of his left forefinger.

Opinion - What happened to that boy and his finger seems very depressing. Not only did he accidentally cut it off but once they were at the hospital the finger couldn't be reattached. That's very saddening. Then after these things, the hospital loses the finger. I wouldn't really care about this part if my finger couldn't be reattached though. The finger's worthless if it can't be reattached but I guess it would still be considered my property. So the finger should have properly been returned. What I want to really know is how this severed finger got in the toilet and was then flushed! Is this how the hospital disposes of all their severed items?!

Summary - Women from a Nepal mountain village called Pang have been sending mail to their husbands overseas, which include condoms with the mail to protect them from sexually transmitted diseases, says a cbsnews.com article. These wives having been sending letters to their husbands urging them to not have sex with others but enclose condoms just in case. The women have been receiving counseling from social workers on information about sexually transmitted diseases. "As I learned that unsafe relations make a person vulnerable to HIV, I sent a condom along with the letters to my husband," said one of the wives from the village. From an impoverished Nepal, an estimated three million people work overseas mostly as manual labors and send money to their families at home for support.

Opinion - It's nice that so many men would work so far away from their family just to support them. That shows them as true care-takers, unless some of them don't like their families and just do this to get away from. Then in those cases it doesn't really show that. Anyhow, I find it strange these wives mail their husbands condoms but urge fidelity. When deciding to mail the condoms or not, the wives should think about the types of husbands there are and which type each of their husbands fit into. There is the husband who wouldn't have sex even if he was given a condom. There's the guy who would have sex even if he didn't have the condom. Then there are some guys who would only have sex if they were supplied condoms. The last type might be very few because the wives had to be taught about HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. This shows that many don't have the knowledge about these things, which can mean the husbands also have this lack in knowledge. This shows many of the husbands working overseas there will either have sex even if there isn't a condom or not have sex even if there is. The wives should then know if their husbands are trustworthy or not and be able to realize if their husbands need those condoms or not. If they do need those condoms then those wives shouldn't be with those husbands.

Sad story in Malaysia.

Not a good message to be sent by the wives.
