National: Who let the dog out?!?!

Summary: A four-year-old girl named Tori Whitehurst was mauled and killed by her family dog this past Monday. Tori and her older sister were being taken care of by there live in nanny. The girls were playing outside when the nanny went in to get the camera she came back out to find the dog on top of Tori. The nanny tried to get the dg off by hosing it down, but the dog did not respond. 10minutes after the police got the call they arrived at the house to find the dog laying next to the wounded child. The dog was aggressive with the officers so they tased the dog then shot it. The little girl died on the way back to the hospital.

Opinion: I don not believe that anyone is at fault in this accident. I believe that those fogs are meant to be viscous. Who was to know after having the dog already for a year it would attack randomly? I am deeply sorry for this family who has had such a tragic loss. My prayers and heart goes out to this family. Psalms 18!


National: MIA

Summary: As of Tuesday Police are looking for a 15- year old girl who left her home for school and never showed up for classes. The school notified the mother of the absences, but the mother said she had no idea. The girl lives in Mesa, AZ. As of 6:00 p.m. the girl has still not yet been found. Police say that so far their s no evidence of abduction but that they are not ruling it out. As of right now it is to early to tell what happened. The girl and the name of her school have not yet been released.
Opinion: I am stuck in a rut. I do not believe that there is enough information to tell what happened. I do believe that this is a very strange case. I do however believe that the girl was not abducted. It is to easy for me to think that she has been abducted. The pieces of the puzzle don’t seem to fit in that direction. I do believe they will find he girl and that everything will be okay.


International: ME-O-MY…SU-NAM-I

Summary: On Tuesday a small Tsunami hit Southern Mexico, wiping out an entire village. 16 were reported missing and about a dozen are still trying to be found. 2 people were killed in this horrible storm. Many cities near by were evacuated before the storm hit and continued t be evacuated after. The people of Mexico are still searching for those missing people and are trying to rebuild the village.

Opinion: Nothing could have been don to avoid this storm. Many times storms come without warning and there is no way of telling how bad it is. I pray that those missing people will be found and that they are still alive somewhere. My prayers and thoughts go out to these people who were affected by this storm.


International: 8-limb phenonenon

Summary: Early Tuesday morning a team of 30 sum doctors started surgery n a 2-year-old girl with 4 arms and 4 legs. The surgery is expected to take 40 hours or so with doctors working 8-hour shifts. This girl is named Lakshmi Tatma, she is 2-years-old and has a parasitic twin attached to her at the pelvis. The twin of Lakshmi did not fully develop in the mother’s womb and attached to Lakshmi with no head. The girl as of right now is doing well and the surgery is going according to plan. So far there has been no complications.

Opinion: I hope this surgery is successful. It is a miracle by God that this little girl is still alive. The way she has been living has to be so difficult and so frustrating, but she lives everyday with a smile on her face. I pray for this little girl and her family. I pray that this surgery will be a success and that after this she will be able to live a normal life with no more complications.
