KHARTOUM A 7-year-old Sudanese student on Tuesday defended the British teacher accused of insulting Islam saying he had chosen to call a teddy bear Mohammad because it was his own name. Gillian Gibbons, a 54-year-old teacher at the Unity High School in Khartoum, was arrested on Sunday after complaints from parents that she had insulted Islam's Prophet by allowing the bear to be named Mohammad. She is facing a third night in jail without being formally charged. "The teacher asked me what I wanted to call the teddy," the boy said shyly, his voice barely rising above a whisper. "I said Mohammad. I named it after my name," he added.

Opinion:
OH MY GOODNESS! What the heck is going on with people these days. I mean honestly! come on! Its like people are just looking for something to argue about. This kind of, in a weird way, reminds me of when Hayley Burns and I went on a cruise this last Summer and our little bread/drink guy was named Mohammad but on his name tag it said "Khdar", or something like that. The poor guy could not even use his real name because he was afraid he might offend someone. This story is ridiculous, its a teddy bear people, a non breathing, thinking, feeling toy. Get over it.

U.S. and Iraqi soldiers patrolling military checkpoints have arrested insurgents disguised as everything from police officers to ambulance drivers, and even U.S. soldiers. Male terrorists have even worn an "abaya," the traditional dress worn by some Muslim women. But last week, Iraqi soldiers manning a checkpoint just north of Baghdad came upon a first: a wedding procession in which the bride, draped in a flowing white gown and veil, needed a shave.
Suspicious and laughing Iraqi soldiers forced the little procession of cars to a halt and arrested four men, including the bride, according to the Iraqi Defense Ministry. The two-car wedding procession was spotted at a checkpoint near Taji, an ethnically mixed town about 12 miles north of Baghdad. Soldiers became wary after discovering that all of the procession participants were men, a defense ministry official told ABC News.

Opinion:
This is too funny. People are so desperate. To think that these men thought they could get away with this is just too funny. You would think that he would be smart enough to shave or something to make it more realistic, I mean come on people! Do they even have razors? Everyone has beards there anyways and Im sure the women do.

When should a person reveal that a loved one has HIV or AIDS? That is the question at the center of a lawsuit pending before the Illinois Supreme Court and it has many AIDS activists taking the side of a couple accused of hiding their son's HIV status from his fiancee. A jury in Chicago awarded the fiancee, identified in court papers only as Jane Doe, $2 million in 2004, after she contracted an aggressive form of the disease. An appellate court reversed the jury's decision late last year, ruling that it was the woman's responsibility to get tested earlier.
The lawsuit appears to be one of the few cases in the country that tries to hold a family member responsible for not disclosing that a relative has HIV or AIDS. It highlights a potential conflict between guarding personal privacy and protecting someone from contracting the often-fatal disease. Elizabeth and Kirkpatrick Dilling denied knowing their son had HIV until shortly before his death in 1999 and said they never lied to his fiancee about his health.

Opinion:
This is kind of like our little liberal or Republican thing. I still think it should not be a mandatory thing but honestly I do not care. If it ever became mandatory then fine thats great. I would hope that the person I marry will be honest with me and tell me everything. Maybe my opinion will change as I get older. I do not think it was the parents responsibility to tell her that their son had HIV but maybe their son should of thought about keeping it in his pants till he got married.. what a concept!

The mother of Riley Ann Sawyers voluntarily told Texas authorities how she and her husband abused the toddler before the pair stuffed her body into a plastic box and dumped it into a Texas waterway, officials said today. The chilling details of the abuse were outlined in an affidavit released Monday night."That was of her own volition," Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo, a spokesman for the Galveston County Sheriff's Office, said this morning when asked on CBS' "The Early Show" how investigators had prompted Kimberly Dawn Trenor, 19, to admit to the couple's involvement in the girl's death. uttoilmondo also told CBS that authorities are trying to determine whether or not Riley Ann was a victim of long-term abuse. Monday, authorities in Texas announced they are "fairly confident" that the remains, discovered late last month by a Texas fisherman and nicknamed Baby Grace, are those of Riley Ann.

Opinion:
Throw their butts in jail and throw away the key. They deserve to suffer and die... can you say quartering? Let me just say one word ADOPTION! if you do not way a kid then give it up for adoption. People think of that word as a "bad" word but my brother was adopted and he is so much better off then he would of been. There are so many families out there that I am sure wouold of loved this little girl to pieces! These people are cruel and should rot in jail.
