Commonwealth foreign ministers have given Pakistan 10 days to lift its emergency rule or face suspension. They also said President Pervez Musharraf had to step down as army chief and release political detainees. In Pakistan, opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was given a seven-day detention order hours before she was due to lead a march from Lahore to the capital. The march was aimed at pressuring Gen Musharraf to ease current restrictions. The Pakistani leader says a parliamentary poll will be held in January, but opposition leaders want an end to emergency rule first. The United States has been pushing him to accept a power-sharing deal with Ms Bhutto to help shore up his war against Islamist extremists. Ms Bhutto returned to Pakistan from self-imposed exile last month with the approval of Gen Musharraf. However, in the wake of the current crisis, she said on Monday there would be no more talks with Gen Musharraf.
awwww poor mr president he cant wear his spiffy uniform anymore. But seriously these people need to make up their minds do they or don't they want a democracy. If they do cool maybe we can help them if they don't thats cool too then we don't have to help them. I don't really understand why they're in a state of emergency still i think its somewhat safe to come out now.

Al Gore is to become a partner of a US private equity firm with a history of supporting "green technology". The ex vice-president and environmental activist is to join the board of Kleiner, Perkins, Caulfield and Byers. He will lead investments in alternative energy sources and firms involved in areas such as recycling, alternative fuel and water purification. Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize last month for his work as a climate change campaigner.
Poor crazy Al Gore always being made fun of if only he didn't claim to invent the internet. I don't know I do think there is such a thing as global warming and even if it doesn't it's not hurting anyone if anything it's helping everyone to live a cleaner and healthier life. Heck he's even saving us from man-bear-pig. I think we should start taking him serial. ( those last two sentences are for those of you who watch south park.)

Musharraf needs to allow democracy to work, but most countries in this region are not used to democracy, and it's scary to these leaders.

Global warming is alive, but WE are not the cause--according to Hjort.
