National News:

Toy Hall of Fame Welcomes Atari 2600, the kite and Raggedy Andy

Summary:
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — To celebrate the toys inducted Thursday in the National Toy Hall of Fame, hug a red-haired doll, grab a single-button joystick — or go fly a kite. Raggedy Andy, the Atari 2600 video game system and the kite were chosen for entry into the Strong National Museum of Play's all-star lineup, joining the bicycle, Lionel model trains, Mr. Potato Head and 33 other classic playthings.

Opinion:
Interesting… All of these toys seem to play an important role in a child’s life, so they deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. But seriously, who spends their time, analyzing this type of stuff, don’t they have better things to do than to sit around and than about why Barbie deserves the tile but Cabbage Patch Doll doesn’t.

New Jersey Teens Fall While Scaling Building Using Sheets to Escape Parent
Summary:
NEWARK, N.J. — Two teens were injured after they fell trying to flee from a parent by scaling down the side of a building using sheets, police said. The parent learned the girls had received alcohol and threatened to call police to find out who supplied the liquor, police said Thursday. The girls tied several sheets together and tried to climb down from a fifth-floor apartment late Wednesday night.

Opinion:
WOW... Some people are so stupid. If they are that drunk, they deserve the fall. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not happy that they are hurt, but it’s their own fault. Suck it up and take the punishment you have coming to you for drinking underage. If your parents don’t kill you the fall might.

International News:

5 Dead in US Military Helicopter Crash

Summary:
ROME — A U.S. Army helicopter crashed in northern Italy on Thursday, killing at least five people on board, the Army said. Eleven U.S. service members were on board the UH-60 Army Black Hawk helicopter, U.S. Army Europe said in a statement released by its headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany. The Italian fire department said four bodies had been pulled from the wreckage of the chopper, which went down near the city of Treviso, and six people had been injured. The U.S. Army said one of the injured people later died.

Opinion:
OMG… That sucks. My heart goes out to the families and friends of these soldiers, I can’t even imagine the pain from their loss. What I automatically start to think about is what went wrong? How could this happen other than just simple human error? Sad Day.

Queen Elizabeth II Unveils British Government Plans at State Opening of Parliament

Summary:
LONDON — The British government on Tuesday outlined its agenda for the next year, including strong environmental measures, tougher anti-terrorist powers and a commitment to containing Iran's nuclear ambitions. The measures are among almost 30 bills and proposed bills in a program unveiled by Queen Elizabeth II in a speech at the State Opening of Parliament -- a lavish ceremonial occasion that mixes pomp, symbolism and political showmanship.

Opinion:
Well this is so classic, for the UK; fancy old stuff, mixed with the new liberal stuff. The government under PM Gordon Brown has promised to respond to the growing needs of the nation. T=I think its interesting that they try but I don’t think that they will live up to all their promises.

Yeah Atari.

You must love stupid people.

Sad military story.

With GB leading the British you must expect more liberal programs.
