Conan O’Brien Stalked by Priest

Summary

Lately, late night talk show host Conan O’Brien has been receiving letters and e-mails from a Boston priest. The priest's name is David Ajemian and refers to himself as Conan's stalker priest. The priest has been trying to interrupt taping of Conan's show and was arrested last week. He has been sending letters to Conan O’Brien, and one note said, "Is this the way you treat your most dangerous fans?" Ajemian has also contacted Conan's parents. The priest demands either a public confession or a spot on Conan’s couch before he will give Conan absolution.

Opinion

This is pretty humorous. Conan does not seem too bothered by this nut. This priest is crazy. I think Conan made fun of this guy on his show, but I am not sure. This guy incriminates himself with his notes. One would think that police would be able to arrest him right now for threats and staking. Conan should get a restraining order.

Nine released form Iraq

Summary

Nine Iranians were being held by U.S. soldiers in Iraq. At the time, U.S. officials claimed five of the men were members of Iran's elite Quds Force, a branch of the Revolutionary Guards. Iran claimed these five were diplomats to Iraq. They were released Friday to Iraqi officials and were being moved to the Iranian embassy. From there, they will go back to Iraq.

Opinion

I do not know for sure whether or not these men were diplomats or members of the Revolutionary Guards, and I do not know if U.S. officials were wrong to arrest the men, or wrong to let them go, but one thing I do know: YOU CANNOT TRUST IRAN! If Iran says the men are diplomats, it could be true, but it is just as likely that they are members of their military. We just need to be careful when dealing with Iran.

Mukasey for Attorney General

Summary

After the hole was left in government by former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, Bush needed to find someone to replace him. Bush picked Michael Mukasey, whom the Republicans in Congress whole-heartedly supported. The democrats who backed the placement of Mukasey said they did not support him, but supported filling the Attorney General position. Mukasey was approved by Congress with a 53-40 vote.

Opinion

It is good that this guy was put into office, because the office needs to be filled, and he seems as though he is a good candidate for the office. If most Republicans back him, he is probably good for the position. I do not much care about his neutral stance on the torture issue, because torture needs done sometimes.

Bibles at the Olympics

Summary

Reporters said that Bibles would be banned from the Olympic Games in Beijing. A US senator demanded an explanation from the Chinese and encouraged a group of Christian athletes to protest the Olympics. When questioned, the Chinese denied all of the allegations and said that some were just trying to sabotage the Olympics because they were in Beijing.

Opinion

I would be pretty angry if I were not allowed to take my Bible to the games. The Chinese deny these allegations, I am not sure whether to believe them or not. If they speak the truth, then good, and if it is also true that some are just trying to spread dissention because they don't like the Chinese, then no credit should be given to anything these dissenters say.

Nuts everywhere and in every profession.

We must watch the Irianian border.

The Olympics can be a chance to push Christianity, and that is what the Chinese fear.
