National: Rattay is signed

Summary: After a long time coming Tim Rattay was signed as backup quarterback for the cardinals this past Tuesday. Tim Rattay is the son of Coach Jim Rattay who coaches the Phoenix Christian High School football team (GO COUGARS). Tim Rattay has been in the league since 2000 when he played for San Francisco. In 2005 he was traded to Tampa Bay then went to Tennessee, but got caught right after camp this season. Tim Rattay says this has been a dream come true and that he is so excited to play with Kurt Warner and to learn under his wing. After a workout in front of the Cardinal coaches on Tuesday they decided to sign him. Tim Rattay has been staying in shape, since Tennessee cut him, by helping his dad coach the high school football team. Even though he was only signed for a year contract, Tim has said that this will be a great experience and that he is excited to be given this opportunity.

Opinion: This is a great opportunity for him and his family. Since his whole family lives n AZ it will be such a blessing for them to be able to watch him. His Dad is really close with my dad and his Dad has said that this is such an answer to prayer and that they are all so excited for him. It has been a long time coming and since his son got cut that they have just been praying that an opportunity like this would come up. Tim Rattay deserves this. To what I know he is an amazing man. God has really answered their prayers.


National: Lindsay set free

Summary: After being released from rehab last Friday, Lindsay Lohan has said in her interview with OK Magazine that she is going to focus on sobriety. She sad that while she has been at Cirque Lodge in Utah she has realized the impact of others can influence you to do stupid things. She also has said that she realizes now the choices she has made in the past were not the best. Lohan rekindled a relationship with her father (after a 3 ½ year estrangement) while she was in rehab. Lindsay did admit though that she believes that the divorce of her parents is the reason for her rebellious behavior. She said that she was just craving attention from them. For now Lindsay will be saying Utah and out of the spot light, until it is time for her to start shooting her next film (then she will go back to Utah), so that she may be able to focus on getting better.

Opinion: I wont believe it till I see it. So many celebs have said they are better when the fact is that they are not. Lindsay Lohan has been in so much trouble in the past and has lied and made up so many things that it is very had to believe her. Don’t get me wrong I am very happy that she has gone to rehab and rekindled lost relationships. I do think that it is good ideas for her to stay out of the spotlight for a while tell things settle down. She needs to focus on herself and by doing so she needs to stay far away from the Hollywood lifestyle.


International: Prince William

Summary: Buckingham Palace released information on Wednesday saying that Prince William, who is second in line for the throne, will be serving one year in the British Navy. He will learn how to fly helicopters and how to fix aircraft wings. This will begin in January when he will start touring with the RAF. In the summer, Prince William will learn all about the submarine warfare and the ships. Prince William’s assignments also include him being trained as a special reconnaissance troop leader of the Blue’s and Royals, this is also where his younger brother Harry serves.

Opinion: I believe that this can be a great learning experience for William. I believe that his grandmother, the queen of England, will surpass her son and hand the crown directly down to Prince William. With this in mind I believe that knowing more about the military is the best idea for the future King of England. He needs to know all that he can before taking the thrown. I also believe that this could be a very dangerous move. With William being apart of the military it puts him and the troops at risk because of his importance in England. But more importantly it gives Prince William great insight into the British military system.


International: Double Collision

Summary: This past Wednesday Brazilian Police said that at least 25 were killed and 87 were injured after a double collision on a hill in Brasilia, Brazil. A truck was trying to pass a car coming down a hill. When he started to pass the car he did not see another car coming the other direction because of a blind spot on a curve, and the two cars collided. The truck managed to hit a bus that was caring about 20 passengers. The truck driver and about 8 on the bus were killed. About 90 minutes later another truck came by and did not stop and ran over some of the people at the scene. The second innocent killed about 18 people including firefighters and police. The driver of the second truck is in critical condition and is under police supervision. The police are still not sure of the reason for the second truck stopping.

Opinion: This is such a tragic accident. I pray to God that the people who were involved in this accident and their families will be all right and trust in the Lord to get them through this. It is so bizarre that the second truck did not stop and I hope that there is a logical explanation for it. The first collision is such a tragedy and an honest mistake that any driver can make. I believe that the truck driver of the first truck should not be put to blame, I am almost positive that he did not mean to do what he did. It is such a tragedy that so many people had to be involved in this accident and I pray that no more of the injured will pass away.
