Summary- Campaigning closes in Argentina election

Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner is leading by over twenty percent in the election of Argentina's new president. Something unusual is that her husband is now president of the country. Does this story have any interesting parallels to American politics? It gets weirder: This lady used to be a senator, and she is also a lawyer. However she does not like to compare herself to you-know-who because she says people need to live their own lives.

Opinion

Well I say there is one major difference between this lady and the other... This one actually will most likely win her election... (comedic pause) ooook folks... anyway this is very unusual for two women of similar backgrounds to be running for the same office at the same time, albeit in different countries. Women trying to take over the world, maybe? We had better check to see if any women are planning on running for office in other major countries. It is also true that both women get much of their publicity and acclaim from their husbands... maybe the husbands can't run for office again so they run through the wife? hmmm this needs more thinking on.

Summary- Astronauts begin space construction job

Today in space one record will be tied and another broken as five space walks are being taken and two women commanders will meet for the first time in space. The space walks are to construct a new section for the ISS, which was built by Italy. More good news is that the shuttle Discovery is ok after a small piece of ice hit a valve hatch, and it looks to be in good shape to come home when the mission is completed. The astronauts were very happy to find out that the shuttle is okay so they can concentrate on their mission to complete it well.

Opinion

Isn't it about time that we either made more shuttles or got a new vehicle? I mean come on Discovery is from the eighties I think and even though it is still working well we need a replacement. Surely NASA has one coming, anyone knows that, but we just need more. Kudos for the women in space and also for finally getting back to work on th ISS, although I do find one thing kind of funny... in space everyone, no matter what country you are from, is nice to each other and hug all the time and stuff... if only we could do that here on earth...

Sorry bedtime eeeek
