National: Tenn. man kills himself at a city council meeting

A man in Tennessee killed himself at a city council meeting, after they denied his rezoning request. The rezoning would have increased the property value of his home. Right before shooting himself, he walked up to the council and said,"Ya'll have put me under. ... I'm out of here,". The man was a barber, who would frequently give free haircuts to soldiers. The room where he was shot will never again be used, says officials.
Opinion: I feel really bad for anyone who feels their only way out is killing themselves. I wonder if this man had any family. It sounds like he was well-liked in the community. I don't know what i would do if i was in that courtroom...probably be traumatized for life.

National: Police kill man who shot 5 at La. law office

An ex-city worker walked into a office buiding, and began firing on workers there. The standoff lasted for several hours. leaving 3 people dead (including the shooter, John Ashley) and 3 others injured. Police decline to speculate about the motive behind these actions. People who knew John Ashley say that he never raised his voice, and never had any history of being violent.
Opinon: Both of the shooters (the one from the previous story and Ashley) were both described as being seemingly normal people. It makes you look at people differently. You never know what kind of crimes others are capable of.
