National: Food burglary

In Appleton, Wis., on Wednesday between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., a robbery had taken place. However this was no ordinary robbery. On Wednesday police recieved a call of burglary. When they arrived a the crime scene they had found out that this burglary was not of stolen appliances, but one of stolen food. The burglar apparently entered the unlocked apartment and had taken a pizza, 6 eggs, a can of beef ravioli, a can of peaches and one chicken-and-broccoli Hot Pocket. However all of the families valuables were left untouched.

Opinion: O my goodness! What a ridiculous reason to rob a house! I mean come on! If your gonna rob someone's house for food, at least grab some of their cash to buy yourself some food! If I were this family, I wouldn't even call the police to report the robbery. What a waste of time.

International: MP chief accused of aiding the enemy

A former U.S. commander at the jail that held Saddam Hussein is due to face trial on next week Monday. Army Lt. Col. William H. Steele, a reservist, was charged of aiding the enemy by providing a cell phone to detainees and acting inappropriately with and interpreter. He pleaded guitly to three of seven charges, which carry a maximum sentence of six years in prison, forfeiture of pay and dismissal from the Army.

Opinion: I really wish our officers could get it together. I mean its bad enough that were at war with a sad little country, but at least act obedient while your there. People already srongly dissapprove of the war and incidents like this make them look down upon our officers. Our officers just need to stay respectful and do what they're told. End of story.

National: Rapidly spreading patch of flowering American lotus

In Grosse Ile, Mich., a large patch of American lotus is causing a big battle. Homeowners in the area are complaining that the plants will grow to interfere with fishing and boating, driving down property values. The American lotus is threatened in Michigan, and there is a fine as high a $500 for picking it. The fight between the nature conservancy and Hickory Island homeowners has escalated in the past year. Only the natural beds are protected by the law, however homeowners say that they have spotted people in small boats planting seeds.

Opinion: Cut the lotus flowers out! The people can find some other place to plant them. Its not fair to the homeowners that the more flowers grow, the more their property values go down. It's not like they knew when they moved down there that all of these random flowers would start growing there.

International: FBI investigates probe

In Raleigh, N.C., the chief executive of Blackwater USA, Eric Blackwater welcomed the FBI investigation into the shooting and supports the prosecution of any bad acts. His guards are accused of killing 17 Iraquis in Baghdad last month. Iraqi authorities have asked the U.S. government to sever all contracts in Iraq with Blackwater within six months and hand over contractors involved in the Sept. 16 shootings in Baghdad's Nisoor Square to face possible trial in Iraqe courts.

Opinion: Here we go again! Why in the world are we killing more people! When we start killing more and more people, were just digging ourselves into a bigger hole. I wish we could just leave
Iraq and their people alone.

Is there a good reason to rob a house?

Little short on opinions.
