This years asu team is being compared to the 1996 rose bowl team a year much similar to this years in that the starting running back was injured in a game and the second string guy steped up and took his spot and asu had to win some key games on the road such as a key game against USC and almost losing to washinton after leading by 21 in the first quarter this is a good thing even though that asu team went to the rose bowl and lost this team may just be more like the team in 1986 that won the rosebowl
