Summary: Last week a student and well known athlete of Chandler High School, Dion Jordan, was fatally burned. He and a few friends were trying to siphon gas from a car with a vacuum cleaner, which resulted in a fire that left him with burns on more than 30 percent of his body. Jordan was ranked as the nation’s No. 11 tight end and No. 185 player overall before being burned.With Jordan being ranked No. 1 tight end in the state of Arizona, its probably going to be a rough season without him.
Opinion: This is the biggest tragedy ive heard of all year. I actually ran track with him this past season, and he's a great kid. Things like this happen so fast, that its almost hard to belive its true. Dion was bein recruited by 10 different colleges in the U.S., and now that he is physically injured, I dont think he'll be able to play for the rest of the season. He's kept a positive mind by saying that he's going to come back strong, and finish out this football season. I hope and pray that he gets the opportunity to get back into this sport in which may one day be his career.
