McCain on claim of coziness with lobbyist: 'It's not true'

Summary: Sen. John McCain denied assertions published in The New York Times that he once had a close relationship with a female lobbyist whose clients had business before his Senate committee. He said he was disappointed in The New York Times piece and it's not true, standing next to his wife. "done anything that would betray the public trust or make a decision" that would favor a particular group. His wife added that her husband always puts family and country first, and is "a man of great character."

Opinion: Well, I want to say that the reporters are leech like. Even though they don'y have 100 percent evidence, they just write about it to begin with. I do understand that's how they get money but I recommend to them to change their jobs. However, in this case, I think the story is made up based on some employees thoughts. Anyways, I think that politicians should pay more attention in their relationships. Well, I do know that his wife's comment of great character was not 100percent true but that was nice of her to say that. I would appreciate that comment if i were to be a father.

Obama touts ideas, Clinton pushes results

Summary: The Democratic presidential candidates are facing off in Texas in their last debate before the state's March 4 primary. Obama was responding to Clinton's reference to a recent interview with an Obama surrogate who could not name any of his accomplishments. Clinton, who has been marketing herself as the candidate in the "solutions business," said, "I do think that words are important and words matter, but actions speak louder than words, and I offer that." Texas Democrats held an online lottery for 100 seats to the debate, and more than 43,000 people entered the drawing.

Opinion: I do not want Hilary to be the next president. I do know that I am not an American citizen but I also know that American politics and economy have great impact and control over the world. If American economy collapses, the whole world will face big trouble. Thus, I think this election is very important since these days America is facing an economic problem. It looks like either Hilary or Obama will be the next president. However, Hilary looks like she doesn't have specific solution. She is proud of herself that she was a former something, like being a firstlady, and her speech is focused with past personal experience and just vaguely says that she is going to bring up the economy. However, Obama is more specific than Hilary. Obama's speech is focused on bringing back the army from Iraq and that would save big money and his yelling of transformation is reasonable after Bush, Clinton and Bush administration. At this point, Obama is more likely to become the next president than Hilary. Hilary's biggest, in my opinion, mistake was trying to act out the male charisma. What I mean is 2008 is not the right time for Margaret Thatcher. America is ready to accept a female leader and Hilary failed to show crowd the her feminine leadership and tolerance, maybe she didn't have those qualities. She should have appealed to the crowd as a generous and nice mother image and her win at the primary at New Hampshire proves that. Meanwhile, Americans are also ready to have a black leader and Obama's well educated political mind attracts not only black elite leaders but also white leaders. His speeches sound passionate and he looks firm with his ideas. Even in their foreign policies are quite different. Hilary supports strong foreign policy and being a police nation while Obama is rather up for appeasement.
I do like Obama's speeches. His speech is the main reason of his rise. I was amazed at his speech. "There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America." was such an amazing thing that can change crowd's minds.
sorry for writing my opinion so long. i just don't want hilary.

Chinese eel product hit by recall

Summary: Exports of roast eel to South Korea that was recalled by authorities came from an illegal exporter, China's quality watchdog. A package of food product containing Chinese eels was recalled by the Korean health authorities, after it was found to contain chemicals that can cause cancer. The recall is the second bad piece of news to hit one of China's important food export markets, after tainted dumplings exported to Japan caused at least 10 people to fall sick last month.

Opinion: Made in China is the word we see all the time and the defining logo of low quality. I do not like China. China used to be a firm, strong, nation few centuries ago but not anymore. Chinese people does not have the citizenship, the mind of the citizen, of an advanced country. For example, their traffic is always in chaos because they don't care about red lights and their streets are dirty. The even painted a mountain, looked brown because it had no trees, with few tons of green paints to make good pictures and few months later, the color of a river nearby the mountain changed to green. They also steal human organs and if there were any public stuff, such as flowers or bike or anything, it would last few hours. This article shows well about Chinese mind. They don't care for the quality but they do care for mass production. I hate their idea. They also copy the ideas all the time and they make fake everything. I do not think China is going to be a big threat to America. They will be a important factor of market but China, definitely, cannot be a leading nation

Yahoo spent $1.6 million to lobby

Summary: Yahoo Inc., which has come under fire for its role in the jailing of Chinese journalists, spent $1.6 million in 2007 lobbying the government, in part, on issues related to China and foreign jurisdiction over U.S. companies. Yahoo has staunchly defended its actions over the last two years as criticism mounted, especially from U.S. lawmakers and human rights advocates who accused it of complicity with an oppressive regime.Yahoo executives at the hearing also testified on doing business in countries, such as China, which restrict access to information and freedom of expression. In 2005, the company bought a 40 percent stake in China's biggest online commerce firm, Alibaba.com, which runs Yahoo's mainland China operations.

Opinion: I don't know much about yahoo. Well, I do know how important it is but I just don't think yahoo is the one and only website. However, based on this article, it sounds like yahoo will make a big investment from these little chinese guys. I don't like chinese governments idea of the restricting the freedom of expression, though. I hope Yahoo would make some investment from china and take their money. lol.

Just a hit piece by the NYT.

Actually Hillary seems to have ideas, where Obama just has platitudes.

Every country must watch Chinese imports.

Some of these internet companies must realize they are dealing with a communistic country. But they don't care as long as they get paid.
