National:
Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama squared off in a debate at the University of Texas this evening. The Texas and Ohio primaries are right around the corner and the race could not be tighter. For the first few parts of the debate, the candidates both appeared to be in agreement but disagreements soon followed. The twosome sparred over healthcare and the new situation in Cuba. Clinton would not meet with new president Raul Castro, but Obama would under certain circumstances. Clinton also brought up the alleged plagiarism of Obama. He apparently took parts of his speeches from his friend, Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick. The audience booed. It seems Obama is gaining more and more support with each primary victory.

Opinion:
It doesn’t appear as if Senator Clinton will be catching any breaks anytime soon. Obama is the media’s chosen one and his momentum does not appear to be derailing. He is a charismatic man with plenty of support, and plenty of prospective support. However, in this election one cannot dismiss anyone. You never know what will happen so I guess we will just have to sit and wait. It isn’t looking good…

A story surfaced late Wednesday night. The New York Times reported that John McCain was having an affair with a campaign official during the 2000 campaign. Vicki Iseman was apparently using McCain to gain privileges in her television career. McCain denied these reports earlier this evening. He said he has served this country with character for more than half a century. McCain is also disappointed with the Times and how it is constantly at war with right wing conservatives. His wife Cindy was with him in the conference.

Opinion:
The time has come for the media to stop the support of John McCain. The ‘Phoenix’ as Time called him, is returning to the ashes. I am not sure whom to believe here. I have a feeling that both the New York Times and McCain were at fault at some point. I could see him doing something immoral but the Times is not ALWAYS accurate. Anyway, the mudslinging is about to get even more nasty, I am sure. Hillary is already suffering the wrath of the media and McCain will soon as well feel it.

International:
Serbian nationalists took over the United States embassy this morning. The Serbs are quite unhappy with the US for recognizing the world’s newest country, Kosovo. Tensions are once again rising in the Balkans. The States and Russia need to meet soon to discuss Kosovo and how the situation should be properly handled. Also, one charred body was found in the embassy. The news media recognized it as a rioter. The police and fire department arrived about forty-five minutes after the original call.

Opinion:
The gun powder of Europe, or something like that right Mr. Hjort? This is getting tense and the United Nations isn’t really do anything about it. They are waving their finger and giving a staunch warning of timeout. Stop it! I think our soil in Belgrade needs revamped security. Troops need to protect what is ours. The conflict needs to be resolved. I am still unsure as to whether or not Kosovo should become independent. More info will come soon….

No real blood draw by either candidate.

Just a hit piece by the NYT.

Didn't take over, but fire-bombed the embassy. Powder Keg of Europe.
