National - Someone has been dumping bunny rabbits in Long Island. The SPCA is looking for the culprits, but it is suspected to be someone who has been breeding rabbits and is trying to get out of the business. This is bad news for the little rabbits who don’t know how to fend for themselves and may starve to death or die by raccoons and diseases.

Opinion – Poor, poor bunnies. You would think they’d be getting run over if there are so many of them. I guess they’re being caught and put up for adoption. We used to have rabbits when I was little. They were really dirty. I think one got bit by a spider.

National – Six Little-Rock Arkansas nuns were excommunicated from the Catholic Church for refusing to give up member ship in a Canadian Sect that believes its founder is possessed by the Virgin Mary. The nuns will still be able to live on the convent property where they live now, but will be barred from liturgy and receiving the sacraments. Marie Paule Giguere is the founder of the Army of Mary (1971) and lives in Quebec.

Opinion – Well, this is up to the Catholic Church, and I don’t know what those nuns expected. The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith had already declared those who embraced the Army of Mary’s doctrine would be excommunicated. Cults are just weird in general. I had a distant family member who was a cult leader. That’s what I want to be.
