Deadly summer rains have submerged Africa
Floods and torrential downpours have submerged whole towns and washed away farms, schools and bridges. This summer's rain have killed approximately 150 people. In eastern Uganda many people have been left homeless and and 400,00 farmers have lost their farms. Uganda's Minister has declared that it would take boats and helicopters to deliver emergency interventions. On the ohter side of the continent, Ghana of west Africa has also been hit. It is hard to say how much rain has fallen.
Opinion
This is very sad because many poeple have lost their lives and many of them have lost their loved ones. What is also sad is that many farmers have lost their farms and this is sad because by farming that is how they get money to support their families. But the good thing is that Uganda's Minister has declared that they would sent boats and helicopters to deliver emergency interventions.

Iran becomes major trading partner with Iraq
Iran has been sending trucks that are providing food and drinks and appliances into Iraq. Bush made a statement that warned us that the US pullout would encourage Iran to gain nuclear weapons and dominate the region. Washington has also accused Iran of sending fighters to help Shiite Muslims militias in Iraq to help fight the American target US troops. Iran, however states that they are not trying to gain nuclear weapons. Iran and Iraq were hostile to each other throughout Saddam's reign, including fighting a destructive war during the 80s . Most of the reconstruction projects are being financed by Iran and they are also selling their products in Iraq, which this has never happened before.
Opinion
Well I think that this is good that Iran is trying its best to help Iraq. But I kind of agree with Washington maybe Iran is helping Iraq alot because maybe they are trying to gain some nuclear weapons but we still don't know their real intentions for helping Iraq. Iran is really helping Iraq getting back into its feet.

National
War protestors, supporters converge in D.C.
Thousands of people have surrounded outside the house protesting about putting an end to Iraq War. The protesters have also surrounded the Lafayette Park waiting for Bush's impeachment.
About 13 blocks away, there have been 1000 people who have surrounded close to the Washington Monument, waving American Flags and shouting "U-S-A". The police have decided to line on both lines of Pennsylvania Avenue to confront the anti war protestors as they march by.
Opinion
I think that these people are kind of doing good in standing up for their beliefs and that they want the Iraq war to end but this may cause alot of problems in Iraq and here at the US. I am happy that these people are supporting our troops in Iraq because our soldiers in Iraq really need our help especially during this times. I think that we should just pray and that God will do whatever He thinks is right to do.

Powerball curse? Record jackpot winner reflects
Jack Whittaker has sometimes wondered if winning the 315 powerball game was really worth it. This dream of winning the Powerball game turned into a nightmare. His granddaughter, protege, and heir died and his wife laft him. He also endured frequent requests for money. Over the past 5 years Jack has been left with things that money can't buy. He has been left with doubts of trusting other people and with a daughter who has cancer. Jacks says that he has no friends because every friend that he's had has asked for money and once they borrowed money they are no longer friends. Jack was a self-made millionare before winning the Powerball. Before winning the lottery he built a pipeline business that was worth 17 million, tehn he won the lottery in Dec. of 2002. The prize was worth 314.9 and was left with 170 after taking out 93 million for taxes. Eventhough he has alot of money he still at the age of 59, hasn't retired yet. He is still working in construction, real estate. After winning this prize has been involved in many crimes that involve drinking, gambling, and philandering which soon became public. While being in a strip club, Jack's Lincoln Navigator was broken into and hid brief case which had 24500 dollars was stolen. He was also accused of assault. He says that he's been involved in 460 legal actions.
Opinion
Wow. This is a hard story to believe a person who just won millions of dollars is just saying that he'd wished he never won this prize because of all the bad things that have happened to him. I believe that this is a good lesson because it just shows that money doesn't buy happines but instead brings sorrow. This man is now left alone with no wife and no friends and with a sick daughter. I rather be poor and be happy and have a healthy family than have all the money in the world and have a sick family and have a sad and depressing world. This I think happens to people who are just obsesed with money.

Very sad for Uganda. My prayers are with them.

Iran wants to take over Iraq!!!

I would never want to win that much money because of the pressure associated with the money.
