National- Old lady arrested!
Summary- A 70 year old woman was in court pleading not guilty on charges of not keeping up her lawn. Betty Perry was charged with resisting arrest and failing to maintain her lawn, both misdemeanors. She was arrested July 6 after refusing to give her name to a police officer that came to her home. Perry in the struggle with police fell and hurt her nose. After investigation they found that the officer had acted appropriately in the arrest.
Opinion- I would like to see just how run down the lawn was. Because if it wasn’t all that bad then it would be like an officer pulling someone over for going 2 miles an hour over the speed limit, just ridiculous, legal, but ridiculous.

International- Big hole in Peru
Summary- a large meteorite crashed in southern Peru over the weekend and caused dozens of people to become sick. There have been eyewitnesses that have said they saw the fiery ball that struck the Andean plain. The director of the health department in the southern state of Puno says that 200 people have been reported been having respiratory problems, nausea, and headaches since the meteor hit. Jorge Lopez director of the health department claims the sudden sicknesses are from toxic gases released from the crater.
Opinion- I don’t believe that the ground would be radiating enough toxic gas to cause people to get sick. The respiratory problems can be accredited to all the dust the meteor stirred up.
