National:
Summary:
The nation of America has become a land of entertainment. In order to help fulfill the people's needs, the New York Film Festival offers a selection of movies that are quite original. The movies sometimes come from the Cannes Film Festival, and this year they are sure to entertain, amuse or even appal the viewers. One of the film makers is a man named Abel Ferrara. He is widely acclaimed, and this year his film is based on a strip club plot. The movies that appear at the festival aren't always necessarily intended to appease the viewer. Sometimes the point of the movie is to make the viewer angry about a subject, or at least make them consider it.
Opinion:
I am glad that there is a place that non-mainstream producers can have a place to show their films. Many times the movies most worth seeing are the ones that aren't publicly correct. However, I also believe that America has become so obsessed by the entertainment world and the need for their appetite to be fed, that nearly anyone can become famous or well known without having true talent. I read a really great quote in a shop over the weekend that said "Just because people don't understand you, that doesn't mean you're an artist." I wish I knew who said this, because it is very true. Many of the movies that are comming out in theatres nowadays are so redundant of their predecessors. Some originality every now and then would be great. However, strip clubs shouldn't even be allowed to exist let alone be filmed about.

We have always wanted to be fed by the entertainment industry. I wish directors would be more creative myself!
