Summary:
There was a march for racial discrimination Thursday, September 20, in Jena, Louisiana. The reason for the march was the “Jena 6”, six black boys who were arrested for beating a white boy at school. In August of 2006, a group of white students had hung a noose from a tree on campus. Many people of Jena believe a civil rights dispute might occur from this event. Thousands gather to support the “Jena 6” by marching towards the Jena High School campus.

Opinion:
Why do racial issues always seem to come up? I thought we settled all that during the Civil Rights Movement in the fifties. The behavior of the white students, who hung the nooses on the tree, was cruel and uncalled for. The “Jena 6” should not have beaten the other student up and I believe they should be some kind of punishment but I also thing the students involved in the noose incidents should receive some kind of punishment as well. I do not want any kind of racial discrimination in our nation…America is SUPPOSED to agree that everyone is equal and this right needs to be protected by whatever means possible.

International

Summary:
Iceland has been working on a new program to help the atmosphere stay clean. Iceland’s new product is fuel cell energy. A new way to fuel up vehicles without producing pollution. The only product of the hydrogen fuel cells is water. The specialized cars sends an electric current through the water to produce energy for the vehicle. Fuel cell cars will become available to common people around 2010.

Opinion:
I look forward to this new addition to our world. Living in “Pollution City” (aka Phoenix), I will definitely appreciate a cleaner environment. When the pollution is high, I begin to feel confined and almost suffocated. Its disgusting when you’re standing on top of Camelback mountain and you see a grayish/ brown haze surrounding the city. I wouldn’t mind visiting Iceland to investigate and see if the pollution is much better. I’m pretty sure it would be.

As soon as you throw a punch you have lost the arguement.

Most of our "pollution" comes from dust rather than factories.
